MLM Fear | Enter The Mind of MLM Newbies

It is quite clear in the Network Marketing Industry that MLM is looked down upon as a “get rich quick scheme.”  Though, some do try to shake the feeling, and put their money down on a program with some hopes that it will “make them money.”

Empty shout [EXPLORED]The SCHEME mantra is probably chanting loudly in the back of their minds.  We seem to forget this stigma when we are recruiting or once we have already recruited.  This phenomena causes more opt-outs than a little.

It is true that we can not coddle the weak in this industry.  Coddle or not, the weak will not last.  Only leaders last.  Although, we could fortify their milk and give them their Flinstones.  I would definitely recommend Magnetic Sponsoring to all of your newbies.  This is the milk and Flinstones that they will need to get them off to their “not so magical” start in their own business!

I did not want to say MLM business right there, because all to often newbies don’t get that this is not a job and they aren’t coming to work on our teams.  This is their business and they are teaming up with other business owners! They may not be leaders now, but if they intend to last past a few years, they will have to emulate the leaders and become one themselves.

You must stress LEADERSHIP to your team.  If they shy away from leading, then you are not going to build a strong team of business owners.  You are building a shallow team of “Average-Joe-Workers,” who will quit their business, just like its a job.  I know because, I have been the quitter as well, as the Leader that forgot to give the newbie their milk and Flinstones.

Now, I know that I used milk and children’s vitamins as an example, but your business owners are not children.  These are adults and should be treated like adults.  That’s why I say,  NO CODDLING!

Provide your downline with information and allow them to do with it what they will. If they continue to contact you and are not following your directions, then you may not want to call, but shoot them an email or a tweet.  If you are a constant twitter-er like me, then you know how to keep a message under 140 characters and make it quick.  You can keep your team encouraged without being a coddler.

They may not be Alpha Leaders like you, yet.  But if they are continuously contacting you they may be Pre Alphas.

My point is that you must remember how the newbie feels to build a strong team. It is not that you are constantly looking for people who are ready leaders.  When that comes, it is a beautiful thing.  You are looking to develop leaders around you. That is, if you are a leader to begin with.  Remember to build a leader, you must give them strength.  You must give them the tools and maybe even a little attention from time to time.

Do you remember what it was like to be a newbie?

Points To Rember:

1.  Do not coddle your downline.

2.  Give them strong tools to get them started like Magnetic Sponsoring.

3.  Give them attention through direct response.  Email and twitter are nice.  (For the leader with a massive team, you should delegate this authority to another team member or hire an assistant or two.)

4.  Understanding the newbie mind can help you in building your leaders up strong.

5.  Remind your up and coming leaders that this is their business and they don’t work for you.

6.  Stress Leadership to your team!

Many newbies need a place to start.  They need a frame work to help them develop their inner powers.  You can help your newbie by giving them a ready-made online branding system.  Get yours here.
