Most people who join MLM businesses are “regular” Joe’s who think like workers/employees. They have no business savvy and are just trying to work an extra “job” on the side to bring in another $1000 dollars per month. They are not “yet” Entrepreneurs.

Sometimes by total hype from the Network Marketers themselves, the new Joe is expecting to make lots more in less than 6 months. They are expecting a 5 figure income in 90 days and they believe that they don’t have to do one thing, because “the system will do it for you.”

Now Joe doesn’t have to take any responsibility for his own business. With this non-entrepreneur mentality, if he doesn’t make 5 figures in less than 3 months, then it must be something wrong with the business or the product. (Cause it couldn’t possibly be Joe.  Joe’s a great person and has an honest face!)

So, now what will Joe do? If he is ambitious he will jump into another MLM with the same hype of “The System.” If he’s jaded, then he will join the ranks of other ex-marketers and stand at the door to entrepreneurship and let everyone they know that is trying to get in that…

“Hey man, this Network Marketing stuff is a pyramid scheme.”

“There is no way this stuff actually works!”

“Those people are just going to steal your money!”

“Hey, you may as well, just keep that good job you got, cause that MLM stuff is just a bunch of rich people trying to make themselves richer on account of you!”

Becoming a Network Marketer takes work. Though you can’t merely think like a worker/employee. This is your business. You must become and entrepreneur and business owner. You will have to learn new skill sets and rally within yourself a new state of mind.

I DO NOT WANT YOU TO QUIT YOUR NETWORK MARKETING BUSINESS!!!

So, I am here to recover the bad name put on this industry by giving you a few tips strategies and techniques that you can use to make money in your first 90 days. Even as a newbie, you will quickly be able to help others make money in their first 90 days, too.

This industry is called Network Marketing, because you have to build a network of people to succeed. So, if you are not a people person, then that is surely what you must first become. Next, you must believe that you have the power to help another person. You must believe that you have something to give.

If you don’t have something to give, you can quickly learn. Once you have learned, then simply give what you have learned. That will put you one step in front of your newbie. Here is your first step to learning a little bit more than your newbie. I am going to provide you with a short outline a business strategy that will take you from “regular” Joe to an Entrepreneur.

I am an Internet Network Marketer, so this plan will come from that point of view. I am providing my strategies and techniques here, though I can’t guarantee what your results will be. I can guarantee that you will meet with some results if you use the plan within. It all depends on what ACTION you take.

How to Become an Entrepreneur

  1. First thing that you must do when you begin your Network Marketing business is to learn as much as you can about yourself. This may seem silly or atypical, but if you are not already a successful business owner, then you have to become one. You can not map out a plan for success without knowing where you are.
  2. Personal Development. Personal Development. Personal Development. Your business will begin to grow when you do. Take leadership classes. Read books. Listen to tapes. Grow as a person and people will be attracted to you. You can contact me to find classes that you may want to take. Just see my profile.
  3. Know that people join you, not your opportunity. Through personal development and learning business savvy people will be attracted to you. You will have something that they want and they will come to get it from you. This is why personal development is so important. So, learn about yourself and grow yourself through personal development.
  4. Do not be afraid to fail. You will fail.
  5. Learn to fail correctly and this will grow your business exponentially. The correct way to fail is to analyze your failure. Learn why that strategy or technique did not work out as you hoped. A lot of times you will figure out it is because you went “commando” and had know technique or strategy at all.
  6. Always… I mean always use a proven technique or strategy to work your business! Just working your business blindly or reinventing the wheel is not a business plan. It is a disaster waiting to happen. (Embarrassingly, I have been there before.) This is a MUST do. Use proven techniques and strategies.
  7. You MUST test the proven techniques and strategies! I know that this may sound totally opposite of #6, but I assure you that it is not. The world is ever changing. Techniques and strategies get old or sometimes work for other personalities and not for others. (Testing strategies means that you experiment with them and make sure that they work for you.  You may even use more than one strategy at a time, within reason.)
  8. Take inventory of what is working and what is not. After you work a technique or strategy then analyze the results. Is this strategy worth my time, effort and money? Do I need to put more time, effort and money into this technique? Once you do the testing of the strategy, then take inventory of it.

My Internet Network Marketing Business Strategy

  1. First I generate Leads. This is the lifeblood of your business. Leads can be generated through personal capture pages. It is important that you obtain your own capture pages with an integrated email auto-responder. This will allow you to have your own database of prospects. Instead of this list belonging to the company that you market for.
  2. I qualify and filter my leads through a sales funnel that sorts out tire kickers from quality leads. Simply don’t kiss frogs! You don’t have time for it. After going through your auto-pilot sales funnel (through your auto-responder) leads will contact you and you won’t have to convince them of a thing.
  3. I brand myself. You are not with company XYZ. You do not push product ABC, like some glorified street dealer. You simply let people get to know you through personalized videos through out your sales funnel, and a personalized and customizable auto-responder. This automatic follow-up helps to create trust and turns cold prospects to warm prospects. Then people come to join YOU and not some business.
  4. I use Multiple Streams of Income for Auto-pilot Cash flow. A single streamlined sales funnel that follows up automatically and prmotes income streams provide upfront cash flow that you can use to support YOUR business and marketing costs. GuruA leader is basically defined these days as an expert in any given field or calling. Becoming an expert is relatively easy in our “make everything easy,” “pocorn” society.

I am going to give you the key to becoming a guru. It’s so easy that you are going to “boink” your head when I tell you.

Read five books on any given subject, and you will be an expert in that field of study. What will make you an expert. 99% of people won’t even read the whole first book. If you read 4 more you will be well ahead of the 99% and that will make you a top 1 percent-er in that area of expertise.

Now take that knowledge that you have read about and apply it, then you will even still be in the top 1% of the 1 percent. You will then definitely be a guru in your field.

Now that I have unleashed the secret. The only questions are…

  • Will you become the guru?
  • Will you invest the time in reading and studying?
  • Will you take the time to apply it?

Figuring out what you want out of life does not have to be rocket science. It does not have to cause you confusion or worry. I would dare say that you think too much about it.

Life is a journey and not a destination. It does not ultimately matter what you do moment to moment. It matters that you live your life in the moment that you are in. Be present. Enjoy what you are doing now to the best of your ability. If you find no joy in what you are doing, then by all means… do something else.

Did you realize that I did not say find something else to do? There is a reason for this. When you are looking for some action to fill your time, then you are lost in the abyss of many options. When you decide quickly to take another action, then do that with full presence and joy, you are then living. If you would like to jump from job to job. It is okay. Remember, however; there are consequences for every action whether good or bad.

I love when I hear the saying “Fail quickly.” It is an important key to living a great life. We become “bummed out” by mulling over decisions and taking too much time doing nothing with our lives. When you are doing something that you love, then time just seems to fly by. When you are doing nothing, time almost seems to stand still. This is the place where we get stuck in the time warp of indecision. We get lost in the sea of worry. Life was meant to be lived with ACTION; not to be spent doing nothing.

Now for Failing Forward with a Plan>>>

  1. I am interested in doing XYZ business. So, now I need a plan. Because I know that reinventing the wheel is just a no, no. So, next…
  2. I find a business mentor. Someone who has found the success that I want to find. (Now, it is not necessary that I contact this mentor myself. I could read a book by this mentor or follow a blog. Even though face to face contact can be golden. Using the phone is also, somewhere next to gold.)
  3. I do what I am told to do by my mentor. In the beginning I do it explicitly until I find some success. Not veering away from the path in the future I will have developed the insight to tweak they system given by my mentor, thereby making the system better. (The student has become the teacher.)
  4. I teach someone else what I am learning from the very beginning. There are three reasons for teaching someone else what you are learning.
  • a. Teaching another what you are learning reinforces the lesson for you.
  • b. You are now positioning yourself as the leader that you need to be in order to thrive in your business
  • c. You will get rich by helping enough people solve their problems.

Now, if you find that XYZ business is not the right business for you. It does not bring you joy happiness or passion, then you may want to change to ABC business. (Remember what I said about consequences.) Then repeat the formula above.

As obvious as this should be. I am not going to leave this up to chance. When you are choosing a business or product to promote. Choose something that you already have an akin for. If you haven’t exercised in years and you hate popping pills. Then promoting the next great vitamin may not be the business for you. Unless of course, you have a new found passion to create the healthy lifestyle that you have never had. (That is a slim chance actually. No pun intended.)

If you like singing and you have went down to try out for American Idol once or twice, then you may want to model your business around the new Vocal Computer Software. Funny little biz model, but hey its something you can relate to and might even have a love and passion for. I don’t care if the things you like may not “seem” like money makers, but I assure you they are. You only must change your way of thinking. Which is another article within itself.

Once you have found your business, you will need to promote it.
